Geobread — Reimagining the Bread Loaf
Designed an aluminum mold for shaping inflated food together with Helena. The approach integrates the tools and processes of digital fabrication into the kitchen by hacking material properties and material fabrication. This specific project used a pneumatic control toolkit, called Pneuduino to blow the air into the food material while it was being cooked or frozen to keep a specific shape. Our mold controls the inflated shape during the baking process.
This work was part of a course taught by Jifei Ou and Lining Yao on fabrication of pneumatic shape-changing interfaces and exploration of new material processing techniques through experimenting with food.
